Working as a guest artist, I was able to direct (and re-interpret) Songs For A New World at Earl Haig Secondary School, home of the Claude Watson Arts Programme. While the show is written for only four performers, I conceived a version of it with a large ensemble cast. I really enjoyed the process of adapting the show for this number of performers, thinking about the way that it resonates with a larger group, and directing students in this unique context. The performers were true collaborators in the project, and they were an incredible group of young people to work with. I’m very proud of what we created.
